(116 & 117) Blogger Fail

It wasn't my fault a post didn't happen yesterday.
I went to work on the day 116 post and i saw this:
yah..not cool blogger...you failed

Moving on from this...

Day 116: Thursday
UMMMM....I didn't go to bed until 4:50 am
my stomach was upset, my allergies had gone crazy, and i had dr. pepper late at night
This combination did me in
I watched some movies and explored the internet for hours
Eventually I gave up and went downstairs and slept on the couch
(me and my allergies don't get along when im in my room)
I woke up at 8:20 am. wow 3.5 hours of sleep. Is that a new personal record for a school day?
I poured myself a cup of coffee, grabbed my laptop, and a stack of textbooks and headed next door to work on my take home exam.
i went back home around 11am
I left for class at 12:40
in class i did my presentation
i was so out of it for all the other peoples
and mine was a blur
i got home at 4pm
took a brief nap
at 5:30 i went back to school for my new zealand meeting.
i got back home at 8:30
continued working on my take home exam
went to bed around 11pm

Day 117: Friday
woke up at 8am
finished my take home exam
attempted printing it at 10am
ran out of ink 2 pages in...FAIL
emailed a copy to my professor
left the house at 10:40 to go to school
missed the first bus
caught the 2nd bus, 10 min. later
my ipod died...i heard "battery low"for the last few days i ignored it
went to my professors office
she didn't get my email
went to the horn center to print this exam
Had quite the learning experience...it took almost 30 minutes( i didn't know what i was doing)
finally got it printed
turned it in
saw debbie giving a tour to some kiddos
worked out at the gym
sweat my frustration away...without music
left the gym
ran into eddie
barely missed the bus
had 40 min to waste
ate lunch at carls jr
rode the very crowded bus home
i stood most of the way
got home and rested
took a shower
at a little bite to eat
went to the movies with carolyn
Water For Elephants....finally
it was so good
Im glad i was able to see it while it was still in theaters
well worth $10.75
Yes the book was better, but isn't every book better than the movie
they did a wonderful job bring the book to life
got home around 10pm
had a glass of wine and ate vegetarian lasagna
(i have no idea how long it had been in the freezer)
It was ok, not the greatest, it served its purpose of filling my hungry stomach
watched tv
went to bed

(108) Projects and Procrastination

I have been a very bad student this week.
Yesterday it was that i didn't start a project until the day before it was due. Today i had to finish that project which meant i couldn't make it to my first class.
Apparently i didn't learn my lesson. Today i still had to do a project (2 micro-teaching assignments) that are due tomorrow. I currently have one of them done. So that means that i still have one left. Of course i am really tired and don't want to stay up any later. WHY do i keep putting myself in this situation? Will i ever learn to plan ahead?

Here is how today went:
got up at 6:05
cup of coffee
magazine project
8:00 printed out the project
took a shower
For sure knew i wouldn't catch the bus and make it to class
watched glee
watched one tree hill
got dressed, hair, makeup
Outfit of the Day
ate an early lunch
walked to the bus stop
waited for a while...bus was late
got to school at 12:15
class
bus ride home
micro teaching project
ate early dinner
work (4-7:30)
drive thru jack and the box-strawberry soda
I love me some strawberry soda
home at 8pm
American idol
sort of worked on micro teaching
Extreme Couponing
blogging

Here is to you learning from my bad habits. DONT Procrastinate and don't use my blog as a way to avoid your work.

(88) Highlights:Test Win, Bus Fail

i woke up this morning feeling much better than i did yesterday...still not great.
i had coffee and tried to enjoy my morning at home before going to school and facing another test.

The hour before class was spent re-reading my notes and skimming through the book.
The test was a combination of 40 true/false and multiple choice questions and 5 written response questions. It was so easy. There were only 2 maybe three multiple choice questions i wasn't quite sure about.
I was able to answer the written questions easily. Test Win.

After the test was over me and my classmate went to coffee bean and tea leaf to get something to drink. We sat outside for almost an hour and chatted about classes, the test, life, summer...so nice to chat with a friend.

I had class from 12:30 to 1:45 and then rode the bus home.
I chose not to listen to music on the ride. I enjoy listening to peoples conversations. I know its eavesdropping but i don't care.
My stop finally arrived. I went to stand up and grabbed my backpack, but it didn't move very far. The strap was stuck in between the seats. I kept pulling at it but it wouldn't budge. There were several people watching me struggle. Everyone who had to get off at this stop had already exited the bus and the doors had shut. Someone sitting nearby yelled for the bus driver to "hold up" as he was slowly starting to continue the route. One of the people nearby was able to get my strap out from between the seat. Apparently my muscles weren't good enough to do it. I was able to make it off the bus before the driver had pulled away from the stop. The sad part is that this isn't the first time my backpacks strap has got stuck. This has actually happened multiple times. It was the first time its ever held me up or made it to where i couldn't get it out on my own. Bus Fail.

I got home around 2:20 and had a bite to eat, drank some emergen-c and caught up on youtube videos.

I worked from 4:30 to 9:30 tonight. I was so happy to be off at a reasonable hour.
Since its just after 10, i think i will try to get a good 7 hours of sleep so that i can try and fight this cold off.

(48) Feeling Accomplished

Oh hello friday.
Today is the start of my school/project filled weekend.

But before i made it to school i had an interesting start. I was walking to the bus stop and saw two police cars right in front of it. There was a homeless man sitting on the bench and the police were talking to him. Apparently he was spending time at the library but had urinated in public. They asked him to leave and he did. I was still waiting for my bus and then another police officer arrived. Now there were three police cars, no homeless man, and me standing by the police cars. Everyone driving past kept staring as they went bye. I kept thinking about how people probably thought, "what did that girl do." Oh well, i know it had nothing to do with me. The bus arrived but had to pull up way further since the police cars blocked the bus stop. I was worried the bus wouldn't stop and i would have to ask the police officer for a ride. Thankfully i got on (the people on the bus gave me a weird look) and i made it to school and got on with my day.
I got to school at 10:40 and observed at the preschool. One less thing for me to have to do next week.

Today was my parent education backpack project presentation. It went really well. We chose to present first and get it over with. My teacher liked the activity i put together, and asked to keep it-Always a good sign of getting a good grade.

I got home after 4 and postponed my jury duty. (i had needed to do that for a couple of weeks now-the jury duty interfered with my vacation over spring break.) What a relief to have that taken care of.

Now for what the weekend holds:
-studying for a test on ch.1-4 in prenatal development and infancy
-studying for my final FCSE 299-7wk class (reading a packet full of articles, and going over the powerpoint notes)
-Doing research on Irish immigrants settled in new york in 1860 for our project being filmed on sunday
-writing my ch. 9 summary

SO how much of this studying is happening tonight?
Hmmmmm....probably not much. I just want at least one night not thinking about school. So tomorrow is dedicated to studying.

P.S. I think i have decided to read Water for Elephants over spring break.
I am so excited for the movie to come out in April. I mean can it get much better....Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson...ya it's gonna be good.

(41) Homebody

Oh Friday, I used to love you and now I dread your arrival.
Today wasn't all that bad. I enjoyed my morning at home drinking coffee and getting ready for the day ahead.
I worked on a Welcome to My Closet post. This one features two celebrity look alike clothes and the Mod Cloth 70% off sale.
I was online and came across this new glee gem:
Lea Michele never ceases to amaze me.
(This is one of the new original songs that will be on Glee)

Today I left the house at 11:40 so that i could be at school by 12:30 to meet for my group project. It went much better than i anticipated. Everyone already had their activity planned out. I was able to change my activity to make it easier on myself and not have it conflict/overlap with my other group members.

Class started at 2 and we were out by 3:30.
I had to wait 15 minutes for the bus to arrive.
It had started raining and it was freezing outside.
I was so happy when the bus arrived.
I climbed on and started thawing out.

There weren't too many people in the bus. In the set of seats next to me was a couple who were talking off and on. About halfway through the bus ride they started arguing. Then they weren't talking and then they were arguing again. When the bus made a stop the guy stood up and got off the bus. The girl said "well then I'm getting off too." It was the weirdest thing. It almost didn't seem real. The situation felt more like an act, as if there was going to be some camera crew coming out from hiding as soon as the bus pulled away. Of course, no camera crew showed up, instead I was left in awe of how weird that whole situation was. I'm still kind of convinced that it was some kind of acting class activity. I will never be entirely sure of what it was all about...that bugs me.

I got home around 4:15 and vegged out for the rest of the night.
I watched some tv, made some outfits on polyvore, ate dinner, and then watched the notebook.
It was nice to spend the night at home all cozy listening to the rain.

P.S. I got to wear my cute rain boots today. I love them.

(19) It's been quite the day

6:30
woke up got ready, you know the routine.

Quite the surprise:
I was on the bus and about half way to school. The bus picked someone up at the bus stop by target. Something just didn't seem right. The doors had opened and the man wasn't coming inside. The driver had to signal him to enter. He put his coins in the machine and began walking toward the back of the bus, and i recognized the orange bag he was carrying. I knew instantly why i was feeling uneasy. He was the same man who was in Denny's about two months ago, the who was talking to himself and then became angry and began threatening people and becoming verbally violent. He was the person who i thought could possibly destroy everyones' life in Denny's. Yeah, it was a terrifying night and a very uncomfortable bus ride. I had my headphones in my ears and i could hear him mumbling to himself. I spent the rest of the ride to school (the longest 5 minutes of my life) praying to stay calm, to not panic, to trust that God would protect me, that this man would not become violent or verbally abusive, and that everyone on the bus would be safe. I was so relieved when the bus pulled onto campus and i could get out of that fear.

The rest of the day was normal.
I read before class. Got out of class early. Went to the gym and worked out for 80 minutes. Ate lunch. Bought an online access code at the bookstore. Met with the professor leading the New Zealand study abroad trip. Went to class. Rode the bus home (the earlier bus ride never crossed my mind). Took a shower. Got dressed. Watched a little tv. Spent time with my mom, aunt, and cousin. Went to the New Zealand orientation meeting. Went to church, had a brief meeting about the v-day dinner. Had car chat with erin. Watched Grey's Anatomy. Uploaded pictures of "the fab 4" photoshoot thing from january.
