(125) Not the greatest of days

Last night after finishing the day 124 post....
...i got ready for bed
....put all of my clothes away that were on my bed
....changed my bedding
...vacuumed up the dust around my bed
....had a really bad allergy attack
...couldn't breathe well...was wheezing and coughing for the next hour+
...(not a cool way to end the day)
...went downstairs to avoid the dust
...continued wheezing and coughing
...fell asleep on the couch watching glee
...woke up at 2am and went up to bed

I woke up this morning at 10am
I could have stayed in bed for hours longer, but i had to start the day
had a cup of coffee
turned on the glee marathon on oxygen
cleaned out containers that had all of my school stuff in it
came across some brochures and business cards...made this post
drank more coffee and ate 3 andes mints that i found in one of the containers
ate periodically...picked up some stuff around the house...tried gathering things i need for new zealand
did laundry
took a shower
continued watching the glee marathon
got ready for work
worked from 4-11:30
It was a crazy night...and not as in crazy good
it was hectic and busy and overwhelming
i consistently had 8 tables...i would normally have 5 at a time on a saturday
my sales were over $1100
my body ached and i was so ready for the night to be over...it dragged on
i ended up making less than 10% in tips, but not by much
i made more than i expected. (there were a lot of no tips or really crummy tips)
It all worked out and i was so happy when my shift was over.
i got home and vented to my parents
then i went outside and saw debbie and travis out riding bikes
i fed the cat next door
blogged
Heard people yelling outside...always interesting to hear midnight arguments
now im going to wash up and go to bed

oh and the world didn't end today...thanks God for making everything in your timing... :)
I love that He is in control

(118) I'm getting really good at...

...wasting my saturdays

I suppose i waste most days, but i seem to get the least done on saturdays.
The problem is that by the time this day comes around, I am so unmotivated to get things taken care of.

So what exactly did i do with my saturday?

*slept in til 8:40
*drank coffee
(i suppose this should go without saying...but i love it so much that i always include it)
*watched multiple episodes of one tree hill
*explored etsy
*had fun on polyvore
*took all the money out of my piggy bank (i've been saving for 45weeks)

*Mom helped me count it all and bind it up so that it is ready to deposit
*cooked lunch
bow tie pasta with a cherry tomato topping/sauce made with:
*ate way to much pasta...i felt pasta wasted
*i thought about starting my 8 page paper (due tues.), but i ignored it instead
*went outside to see what my parents were up to in the garden/pond area
*got ready for work
*worked from 4-11pm
*ate enchiladas at home
*watched tv: Sarah's House and Secrets from a Stylist
*set up coffee for tomorrow
*went to bed

See, not very productive. I am truly good at wasting time. If only that skill could get me somewhere in life. Unfortunately, laziness is not an asset.

(108) Projects and Procrastination

I have been a very bad student this week.
Yesterday it was that i didn't start a project until the day before it was due. Today i had to finish that project which meant i couldn't make it to my first class.
Apparently i didn't learn my lesson. Today i still had to do a project (2 micro-teaching assignments) that are due tomorrow. I currently have one of them done. So that means that i still have one left. Of course i am really tired and don't want to stay up any later. WHY do i keep putting myself in this situation? Will i ever learn to plan ahead?

Here is how today went:
got up at 6:05
cup of coffee
magazine project
8:00 printed out the project
took a shower
For sure knew i wouldn't catch the bus and make it to class
watched glee
watched one tree hill
got dressed, hair, makeup
Outfit of the Day
ate an early lunch
walked to the bus stop
waited for a while...bus was late
got to school at 12:15
class
bus ride home
micro teaching project
ate early dinner
work (4-7:30)
drive thru jack and the box-strawberry soda
I love me some strawberry soda
home at 8pm
American idol
sort of worked on micro teaching
Extreme Couponing
blogging

Here is to you learning from my bad habits. DONT Procrastinate and don't use my blog as a way to avoid your work.

(104) Nonfunctioning

Today my day didn't start until 10:30 am.
I forced myself to get out of bed so that i wouldn't waste my day away sleeping. (instead i wasted it while being awake)
I poured what was left of the pot of coffee in my cup and then made a new pot.
I went in the living room and plopped down in my chair where i turned on the tv and watched one tree hill for several hours. (i did pour myself a fresh post of coffee and ate a rice crispy treat during that time)
I worked on a Welcome to my Closet post. I hadn't realized how long it had been since i had done that...oops.
All day i felt so exhausted.
I was at work from 3:30-11pm. Even while i was working i was yawning and my eyes were wanting to shut and my body and brain were shutting down. I have to say i possibly learned my lesson: My body does not handle sleep deprivation from the previous day very well. Now i know.

More happened throughout the day but i don't have the memory or energy to write it.
So with that, Good Night.

(98) Easter

What a wonderful Easter Sunday.
(In photos)
Woke up at 8:30 and had a cup of coffee...

Saw that mom had made bunny shaped pancakes...

Got dressed... I had quite the time trying to find a sweater/jacket to wear. The rain really through my outfit for a loop. It all worked out (after trying 8 different things)
We went to church as a whole family

When we came home we started making lunch

This process was interrupted with "hurry you guys have to see this"
Surprise easter egg hunt...

And i would cut myself by cracking the egg while trying to get it open...

The eggs were filled with coupons to be redeemed whenever we would like....

We ate lunch and a little while later our new dryer arrived...
Out with the old, In with the new

Then i ate some homemade strawberry pie...

I sat down on the couch ready to read and highlight 7 articles so that i could write an 8 page paper...

Well i didn't do that...Instead i watched tv and took a nap and then got stuck in a time warp of tv and internet, mainly stumble upon.
I looked up places i want to go when me and mom do our road trip, places i'm going in new zealand, and  i just looked at photos on stumble upon travel.
Mom had me watch biggest loser cause they are still in new zealand. We fastforwarded (so not a word) through all of the workouts and challenges and just watched the adventure activities and scenery.
It is getting me more and more excited. Just more than a month to go.

Throughout the day (afternoon and evening) i took some pictures of the flowers in the front yard...

Perhaps i will still get some homework done tonight. I have some time left.
FYI this paper is due on wednesday...i suppose i should really get to work on it.

(97) Really, saturday?

It is after 1 a.m. so I am going to keep this as short as possible so that i can go to sleep.

morning: (10-12)
coffee...spilled it all over the deck-my hand spassed out or something.
sat outside on the pond deck with mom and Velcro(on a leash)
shower
Afternoon: (12-3:30)
lunch...left over spaghetti
one tree hill...several episodes
Easy A
loaded the dishwasher
got ready for work
left for work
Evening/night/early morning: (4-12:40)
Work
My shift was going really well. It seemed like we would be able to finish everything up early. At 10:22 a woman walked in saying she had a party of 20 people coming. We close at 10:30. Our manager made us take them even though they wouldn't be seated til after closing. Me and Ann were not thrilled about this. They weren't seated until 10:45 at the earliest. Oh and it ended up being over 25 people.
They left around 11:45. Me, Ann, and Tyler finished cleaning and closing up the place. We finished a little after 12:30. Way too late to be at work and it was about an hour later than when we expected to leave.

So that was my day and night.
Happy Easter.
He is risen!

(91) Good start, blah end

I woke up at 9am feeling refreshed.
It was so bright and sunny out. Unfortunately it was already really warm in the house.
I drank two large cups of coffee.
Mom made pancakes.
I watched the American idol results show and then i watched the Biggest Loser-they were in New Zealand. It just makes me more and more excited. The contestants jumped off of the sky tower-the tallest building in the southern hemisphere- and now i am tempted to do it when i go there.

I went outside and attempted to workout, but it was way too hot.
I sat outside for a little while and then went inside and watched parenthood.
I was quite lazy for the rest of the afternoon.
At some point i was sitting in the kitchen chatting with my dad and eating cheerios. Thinking back it seems like something you would see in a cheerios commercial. (child sitting with her dad in the kitchen and then doing a flash forward to it being a young adult and her dad)

At 3:30 i left for work and i got home at 11:45. I am not going to go into details about my shift, but it wasn't a worthwhile night.

Now i am laying in bed, in my hot room. I didn't think to open any windows before i left so it is still really warm in there. The problems that occur when you have upstairs in a converted attic.

(69) Spontaneity and Productiveness

I didn't have class today and i still ended up waking up at 8 am.  I wish my body would have let me sleep longer.
My mom had the day off so this morning. I grabbed a cup of coffee and my laptop and sat in bed with her. She was reading and i was listening to music and playing on the computer.

Around 10:30 or 11 i started a baby quilt. I worked on that for a few hours and then got a text message from erin. Today we were finally able to go to the FIDM museum. We had been trying to find a time to go for the past few months but my schedule never worked. So today was the day. We headed to LA around 1:40. The museum features costumes from the movies. Some included: Robin Hood, Inception, Burlesque, The last air bender, chronicles of narnia, the young victoria......
It was so neat to see the detail of the costumes and really get an idea of what all goes into fashion design for costumes.
Here are a couple of photos from our LA adventure.
Ummm...we got briefly lost trying to find our way back to the freeway and ended up in chinatown.

I got home and finished the blanket i was making.

I made dinner tonight: Ravioli and tomato sauce with artichoke. When i finished eating, emily came over and we got some of the finishing elements for the gift and wrapping.
I washed the blanket and then me and emily put together the gift basket for the baby shower.
Note: putting the gift together was not an easy task at the beginning. I had the wrong box...we switched to a basket for all the items to go in. It got much easier after that.

And of course i made the card too.

FYI:
I am still sick, but am feeling better little by little.
Unfortunately, my mom is getting sick. I guess i passed it on....Oops.

(61) its the little things in life

Just one more day of school and then it's the weekend.
I wish that the weekend equalled relaxing. Unfortunately this weekend is filled with work. Not much of a break for me.

Tomorrow also marks the beginning of my next group project and this one entails a lot more work and planning.
So now that i am fully aware of what is ahead, here is what has already happened:
today......
...i woke up at 7am. This would have been even more wonderful if i hadn't of gone to bed at 1am. So it was the same amount of sleep i always get instead of an extra hour.
...sat and enjoyed a cup of coffee and perused the pages of the April issue of InStyle magazine.
...went to school
...did my write up for an observation
...went to class
...worked out. I was still sore and tired from tuesdays workout.
...took a brief nap. It wasn't nearly long enough.
...went to my 2pm class
...rode the bus home
...got home and sat in my chair for a couple of hours.
...watched last nights american idol and americas next top model.
...ate corned beef and cabbage and potatoes.
...went to church
...caught up with friends
...continued catching up and hanging out at In-N-Out

Some little things that made me smile today and made me wish i had my camera with me:
-seeing tons of snails on a brick wall
-watching a squirrel run around
-seeing all of the beautiful pink blooming trees around campus
-running into debbie and us spotting a "legit" older man (he was wearing a trenchcoat, boots, a hat, carrying a breifcase, standing next to his fold up bike, smoking a pipe-it was amazing)

The best way to make it through crazy, busy, exhausting days is to focus on the big picture and to appreciate the little things in life and to remember to smile and laugh and enjoy the world God created.

(32) ☂☁ Rain, I love you ☁ ☂

I love rainy days.
Today I sported my blue rain boots, pink and green umbrella, and my new grey wool coat.

I spent my time before class in the student union enjoying the rain, listening to music (Taylor Swift), and reading an article for a class.

After class my classmate Kristen and I headed over to coffee bean to get some coffee. I finally got to use one of the many gift cards i have for there. I ordered a hazelnut latte. It was delicious.

The rest of the school day included:
-more reading
-lunch: $1 hamburger from Carl's Jr.
-class and forming groups for a group project
-riding the bus home

At Home:
-Sang some glee karaoke-its not as much fun without friends
-At more: steak and mushrooms and strawberry pie
-watched: The Bachelor, parenthood
-I fell asleep during parenthood-it ended up being an hour long nap
-I woke up and went to my room and fell asleep again for another 1/2 hour or more
-I eventually got up for good. But that didn't happen until my mom was calling up at me from the bottom of the stairs. (we were about to leave to go to dinner)-i was a zombie until we sat down at the table.
-Dinner: CPK fundraiser
-Back home-watched American Idol

Side note: I have eaten so much today. I am finally going to get back to gym tomorrow.

Update
I just checked my ipod shuffle to see if it is working.
GOOD NEWS, Lil Pod is alive and well. (and yes I named my ipod-don't judge me)

(13) ♪I Feel Good♪

9am
Woke up
It felt so good to not wake up to an alarm going off.
I poured myself a cup of coffee and actually got to sit and enjoy it.
TV: Watched live with regis and kelly
(regis wasn't there but the radio dj Psycho Mike was co-hosting. Someone that attractive should not be on radio. Get him on a tv show. )
Todays Outfit
12:45
walked to the bus stop
Yes, I have a friday class. Parent Education
Class started at 2. I really like the professor. Her name is Amanda Dixon. She just found out a week ago that she would be teaching this class. She is taking over for a professor (and a friend of hers) who is on maternity leave. She got her BA at CSULB in 2005 and then worked as a preschool teacher, then became a director, and then moved on to get her masters and graduated in 2009. She is married and is 4 months pregnant and is also a tv junkie (which i can easily relate to and appreciate). Im sure all of you were dying to know all of this information about my professor, so you are welcome. If you couldn't tell I'm really excited about this class. This class is all about what i want to do with my degree. I want to be a parenting coach and educator. I look forward to what this class is going to teach me.

4:45
Headed to the gym with Erin and semi met up with Eddie.
It was so amazing to workout. We spent 10 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the bikes, and I headed over to the mat and worked on the ball and erin ran on the treadmill. After about 10 minutes I had finished my abs and butt workout on the ball and moved on to the treadmill where I spent 10 minutes walking then running. We then wandered through the gym to explore all it has to offer. It was so gratifying to finally exercise, and now i feel great.

I got home around 6:30 and started cooking a healthy dinner.
This dish includes: broccoli, artichokes, Garden Burger (veggie patty), tomato basil pasta sauce, tomato basil feta cheese, shredded parmesan cheese. It was delicious.

Here is what the rest of the night held:
Glass of wine
Relaxing in front of the TV/Computer
-E! News
-One Tree Hill
-Say Yes to the Dress

(9) Hello again school

6am
Alarm goes off. Immediately i turn over, hit dismiss, and get out of bed. No snoozing allowed today.
I took a shower. By the time i got out, the sun was beginning to rise, and the sky looked beautiful.(it made being up this early almost worth it. I grabbed my coffee and headed to my room.

6:30am
Got dressed. And of course the challenge of what to wear had arrived. I resorted to wearing my pink striped shirt and my go to pair of jeans. (later, once i was thinking straight, i added a scarf and jacket)  After that dilemma i moved onto something much more simple, and did my make up.
Todays Outfit
Photo not entirely accurate: I ended up changing into moccasins right before i left
6:50am
back downstairs. Breakfast time: special k with berries cereal
sometime between 7 and 7:45...
I finished getting ready
double checked that everything was packed
reviewed the bus schedule
brushed my teeth
took a deep breath-reminding myself that i really had to go to school
7:50am
headed out the door and walked to the bus stop.
I was pleased that the bus arrived on time-i didn't have to wait around for it.
School
Class didn't start til 9:30, so i had an hour of time to waste. A good 20min. of it involved walking to the VEC building(which is in lower campus and really far)  and then trying to find the classroom. (the teacher had a hard time finding it too-he ended up being 5 minutes late to class)
Also in that time, I got my schedule copied into my planner, found the restroom, ate an apple (not in the restroom, ewww), and chatted with a classmate from last semester. She is also in my 9:30 class. I was so happy to know somebody.

Since it was the first day, the professor went over the syllabus and requirements and then dismissed us. This meant even more spare time before my next class. I went to the bookstore and picked up my textbook-the only one i had to buy at full price-the rest i bought online or am borrowing. I waited in the long checkout line, which i didn't mind one bit. It occupied my spare time and I love people watching and overhearing peoples conversations. (is eavesdropping bad???? well if they don't want people to hear it, they shouldn't talk so loud or openly). Once i paid for my book I headed to some tables outside and ate my lunch, read an InStyle magazine article, listened to music, and read one third of the first chapter in the textbook i had just purchased.

My next class was at 12:30.
The professor got to the room early and started her introduction of herself and the course 10 minutes before class had officially begun. It worked in my favor. Class was out by 12:50 so i was able to catch the 12:55 bus.

It was a fairly short and sweat kind of school day.
I think I'm going to enjoy this semester.

1:20pm
I got home and checked the mailbox. Inside were two packages addressed to me. My last two textbooks had arrived!
Shortly after getting home I got a phone call from Krissi and a few hours later (around 4pm) we got to hang out.
So what did we do?
-went to cha for tea and each got a large, iced, almond black milk tea with boba, and as always we each picked out the color straw that best matched what we were wearing. (does anyone else do this?)
-went to copypro to pick up a reading packet for my class. They had to print it out- so i used my debit card and paid for the packet, and it was ready a few minutes later. But it wasn't the right one. They gave me cash back and informed me that the packet wasn't going to be ready for a few more days. This is the price I pay to try to be on top of things instead of procrastinating.
-had tacos at Krissi's house
-made a list of free and low cost things to do in long beach. (we never know what to do or where to go, so now we are prepared for future hang outs)
8pm
Watched The Bachelor
Or is it the Michelle Show? I am hearing way too much from her. Seriously, a black eye? I am pretty sure she did it to herself for more attention. She is psycho. Get her off the show.

I will be getting to bed even earlier tonight since i have to be at the bus stop at 7am tomorrow.

(7) Joys of Being Home

I woke up multiple times this morning. I would look at the clock, close my eyes, and roll over. (It was my last morning to sleep in before school starts on monday, so I think I was trying to milk it) Eventually I woke up for good. I got out of bed at 10:34.

I got into the kitchen and there was a full pot of coffee ready. I was a happy girl. I chose to use the biggest mug i own. (Owl mug-the one that is the size of my head)

11am
TV: watched a rerun of Sarah's House
(which leads to....)
I have so many design/decorating ideas that i want to put into a house. I just have to wait. Or, could somebody buy me a house and give me lots of money for decorating? Cause i think that sounds like a great plan.
1pm
I got a blog post up at welcome to my closet
Todays Hairstyle
Its a combination of tuesday and thursdays hairdo
Braided Bun and braids on the side
(Picture taken after work)
Work
I left for work at 3:30pm and got home a little after 11pm. The shift started fine, aside from having weak, achy legs, and my first table not tipping. Most of the shift went smooth (i was in a good mood, had nice tables, decent tips). At some point without my notice, things changed. By the end of the night my sales were almost $600 dollars and I had only made $54 in tips (=9.3%). I had to accept the concept of you win some, you lose some. Today was a lose some kind of day. And in my mind that deserved a glass of wine upon arriving home.
(the joy of being 21-almost 22)

(6) Adventures With Erin

10:40am
Woke up because my phone buzzed
(text message about todays plans)
Was dressed and downstairs by 10:50
Today's Outfit

COFFEE
Nothing like sitting in the bright kitchen to wake ya up. The coffee helps too. And the sound of lawn mowers just adds to the experience.

11:30am
Erin Picked me up and we headed to the bass pro shop.
Google maps didn't give an exit to get off at. Finding Bass Pro took awhile.
This place is huge
We got fudge
After spending some time in Bass Pro Shop we headed over to Victoria Gardens (shopping center). It reminded me of the grove and had wonderful stores.
We had lunch at Corner Baker then we explored:
H&M
I love this dress
Pottery Barn
A beautiful knit throw with a big price
William Sonoma
Urban Outfitter
Nesting dove measuring cups that i think are cool
Wire letters-my initials (that i bought for $21 on sale)
Crate & Barrel
Anthropologie
This is such a neat store. I wish it could be more affordable. It is a great place to go and get decorating and design ideas.
After shopping we got our kicks on route 66
(getting their was an adventure in itself)

We got back from our adventure around 7pm.
I got a package in the mail. The first of 3 textbooks i ordered arrived.
