(116 & 117) Blogger Fail

It wasn't my fault a post didn't happen yesterday.
I went to work on the day 116 post and i saw this:
yah..not cool blogger...you failed

Moving on from this...

Day 116: Thursday
UMMMM....I didn't go to bed until 4:50 am
my stomach was upset, my allergies had gone crazy, and i had dr. pepper late at night
This combination did me in
I watched some movies and explored the internet for hours
Eventually I gave up and went downstairs and slept on the couch
(me and my allergies don't get along when im in my room)
I woke up at 8:20 am. wow 3.5 hours of sleep. Is that a new personal record for a school day?
I poured myself a cup of coffee, grabbed my laptop, and a stack of textbooks and headed next door to work on my take home exam.
i went back home around 11am
I left for class at 12:40
in class i did my presentation
i was so out of it for all the other peoples
and mine was a blur
i got home at 4pm
took a brief nap
at 5:30 i went back to school for my new zealand meeting.
i got back home at 8:30
continued working on my take home exam
went to bed around 11pm

Day 117: Friday
woke up at 8am
finished my take home exam
attempted printing it at 10am
ran out of ink 2 pages in...FAIL
emailed a copy to my professor
left the house at 10:40 to go to school
missed the first bus
caught the 2nd bus, 10 min. later
my ipod died...i heard "battery low"for the last few days i ignored it
went to my professors office
she didn't get my email
went to the horn center to print this exam
Had quite the learning experience...it took almost 30 minutes( i didn't know what i was doing)
finally got it printed
turned it in
saw debbie giving a tour to some kiddos
worked out at the gym
sweat my frustration away...without music
left the gym
ran into eddie
barely missed the bus
had 40 min to waste
ate lunch at carls jr
rode the very crowded bus home
i stood most of the way
got home and rested
took a shower
at a little bite to eat
went to the movies with carolyn
Water For Elephants....finally
it was so good
Im glad i was able to see it while it was still in theaters
well worth $10.75
Yes the book was better, but isn't every book better than the movie
they did a wonderful job bring the book to life
got home around 10pm
had a glass of wine and ate vegetarian lasagna
(i have no idea how long it had been in the freezer)
It was ok, not the greatest, it served its purpose of filling my hungry stomach
watched tv
went to bed

(114) Keeping Busy

Woke up at 6:40
had a cup of coffee
went next door to feed the cat (cat sitting for a couple of weeks)
watched morning news
got ready for my day
walked to the bus stop
talked to someone at the bus stop and on the bus
I love random non-creepy conversations with strangers
went to my 9:30 class
found out it was cancelled
went to the gym for a couple of hours
got lunch
worked on polyvore creations
went to dr. medoras office
class-watched 16 presentations
as i was leaving class, so were dr medora and two students. They were headed to a tv taping fundraiser for the new zealand trip. Originally I wasn't going to go cause i had no way to get there and wasn't sure if i would have the night off. But they had room in the car. SO i went extremely last minute. It worked out perfectly.
we got there at 4:30
the taping wasn't even done at 10:15 when we decided to leave.
we got back to school and people were dropped off at their cars.
we went on a hunt for one of the girls cars. (I had no idea how big some of the schools parking lots are)
Dr. Medora drove me home
I checked my dvr so that i could watch glee
It didn't record. FAIL
I was able to watch it online. WIN
Soon i will be going to bed.
No class tomorrow, which means i can sleep in!!!!

(61) its the little things in life

Just one more day of school and then it's the weekend.
I wish that the weekend equalled relaxing. Unfortunately this weekend is filled with work. Not much of a break for me.

Tomorrow also marks the beginning of my next group project and this one entails a lot more work and planning.
So now that i am fully aware of what is ahead, here is what has already happened:
today......
...i woke up at 7am. This would have been even more wonderful if i hadn't of gone to bed at 1am. So it was the same amount of sleep i always get instead of an extra hour.
...sat and enjoyed a cup of coffee and perused the pages of the April issue of InStyle magazine.
...went to school
...did my write up for an observation
...went to class
...worked out. I was still sore and tired from tuesdays workout.
...took a brief nap. It wasn't nearly long enough.
...went to my 2pm class
...rode the bus home
...got home and sat in my chair for a couple of hours.
...watched last nights american idol and americas next top model.
...ate corned beef and cabbage and potatoes.
...went to church
...caught up with friends
...continued catching up and hanging out at In-N-Out

Some little things that made me smile today and made me wish i had my camera with me:
-seeing tons of snails on a brick wall
-watching a squirrel run around
-seeing all of the beautiful pink blooming trees around campus
-running into debbie and us spotting a "legit" older man (he was wearing a trenchcoat, boots, a hat, carrying a breifcase, standing next to his fold up bike, smoking a pipe-it was amazing)

The best way to make it through crazy, busy, exhausting days is to focus on the big picture and to appreciate the little things in life and to remember to smile and laugh and enjoy the world God created.

(20) Can you tell i'm excited

I got to sleep in til 8 today. Of course i didn't go to bed until one, so really i got the same amount of sleep that i always get. At least it was sunny when i woke up.

I sat up in bed and pulled out my laptop. I wanted to look up all the fun things i will be doing in New Zealand. I looked up the spa listings and photos-It is so BEAUTIFUL. I just have 4 months of waiting left.
I was also looking at the itinerary and finding those places and activities in my Lonely Planet Discover New Zealand book that Emily got me for Christmas. Basically every amazing photo i see in the book-I get to go there.
The best part about the trip, aside from how wonderful and beautiful it will be, is that it counts as the directed study or internship requirement. This means instead of having to do 2 internships for my double major, i will only have to do one. Graduation is looking tangible sooner than i thought.

Here are the days activities:
-small group bible study
-bus ride with the nicest most amazing bus driver (in Long Beach) ever
-class (parent education)
-gym (4-6:45)-erin met up with me and then julie and eddie showed up about an hour later.
(we didn't actually work out for 2hrs 45 minutes. It was probably more like 1 hr 45 minutes)
-Dinner at souplantation w/ erin, julie, joel, eddie
-Sleep over at erin's, that way neither of us are home alone

(17) Hello exhaustion

5:30 am
It was another tuesday morning rude awakening. I can't wait for this 8am class to be over.
6:20 am
Breakfast: Banana and oatmeal
7ish
Bus ride to school
Finished a homework assignment on the bus.

I had two classes between 8 and 10:45

After that section of classes I hit the gym.
stepper/ elliptical-10 min.
bicycle-20 min.
elliptical-10 min.
Ball/ Pilates-8 min
treadmill- 5 minutes
I finished my work out and heated up my food and ate outside where there was a nice cool breeze.

I had a good hour and a half until class started.
I attempted to read my textbook, but couldn't get myself to do it. I was exhausted and chose to take a nap instead. It wasn't much of a nap, it was more of a lay my head down and close my eyes. But that was soothing none the less. A little while later i went to the lounge and bought some snacks (snickers and peanut m&m's) from the vending machine-yah probably not the best decision...Oh well.
Class started at 2 and let out a little after 3. Mom was able to pick me up from school and we headed home.
I got home and started cooking. I made dinner so that when i went on break at work i wouldn't have to buy something there.
I made angel hair pasta with a yellow cherry tomato, fresh basil, pine nut, and garlic caesar dressing sauce.

I changed my clothes, redid my makeup, and my hair. I only had 30 minutes left before i went to work. I was so tired and didn't want to go to work. But of course i had to go, and i went.

Guess what....... I didn't have to close tonight. This meant that i didn't have a chance to eat my dinner-no break-no time for food. But this also meant that i didn't have to be at work late. Instead i was home a little after 9 (almost 2 hours earlier than when i close). It was such a relief.
Now i can get some reading done for my classes tomorrow. Or maybe i will just use this extra time to go to bed early and leave the reading for my free time before and between classes tomorrow.

(13) ♪I Feel Good♪

9am
Woke up
It felt so good to not wake up to an alarm going off.
I poured myself a cup of coffee and actually got to sit and enjoy it.
TV: Watched live with regis and kelly
(regis wasn't there but the radio dj Psycho Mike was co-hosting. Someone that attractive should not be on radio. Get him on a tv show. )
Todays Outfit
12:45
walked to the bus stop
Yes, I have a friday class. Parent Education
Class started at 2. I really like the professor. Her name is Amanda Dixon. She just found out a week ago that she would be teaching this class. She is taking over for a professor (and a friend of hers) who is on maternity leave. She got her BA at CSULB in 2005 and then worked as a preschool teacher, then became a director, and then moved on to get her masters and graduated in 2009. She is married and is 4 months pregnant and is also a tv junkie (which i can easily relate to and appreciate). Im sure all of you were dying to know all of this information about my professor, so you are welcome. If you couldn't tell I'm really excited about this class. This class is all about what i want to do with my degree. I want to be a parenting coach and educator. I look forward to what this class is going to teach me.

4:45
Headed to the gym with Erin and semi met up with Eddie.
It was so amazing to workout. We spent 10 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the bikes, and I headed over to the mat and worked on the ball and erin ran on the treadmill. After about 10 minutes I had finished my abs and butt workout on the ball and moved on to the treadmill where I spent 10 minutes walking then running. We then wandered through the gym to explore all it has to offer. It was so gratifying to finally exercise, and now i feel great.

I got home around 6:30 and started cooking a healthy dinner.
This dish includes: broccoli, artichokes, Garden Burger (veggie patty), tomato basil pasta sauce, tomato basil feta cheese, shredded parmesan cheese. It was delicious.

Here is what the rest of the night held:
Glass of wine
Relaxing in front of the TV/Computer
-E! News
-One Tree Hill
-Say Yes to the Dress
Welcome to my Closet Blog Post: School Outfits
