(48) Feeling Accomplished

Oh hello friday.
Today is the start of my school/project filled weekend.

But before i made it to school i had an interesting start. I was walking to the bus stop and saw two police cars right in front of it. There was a homeless man sitting on the bench and the police were talking to him. Apparently he was spending time at the library but had urinated in public. They asked him to leave and he did. I was still waiting for my bus and then another police officer arrived. Now there were three police cars, no homeless man, and me standing by the police cars. Everyone driving past kept staring as they went bye. I kept thinking about how people probably thought, "what did that girl do." Oh well, i know it had nothing to do with me. The bus arrived but had to pull up way further since the police cars blocked the bus stop. I was worried the bus wouldn't stop and i would have to ask the police officer for a ride. Thankfully i got on (the people on the bus gave me a weird look) and i made it to school and got on with my day.
I got to school at 10:40 and observed at the preschool. One less thing for me to have to do next week.

Today was my parent education backpack project presentation. It went really well. We chose to present first and get it over with. My teacher liked the activity i put together, and asked to keep it-Always a good sign of getting a good grade.

I got home after 4 and postponed my jury duty. (i had needed to do that for a couple of weeks now-the jury duty interfered with my vacation over spring break.) What a relief to have that taken care of.

Now for what the weekend holds:
-studying for a test on ch.1-4 in prenatal development and infancy
-studying for my final FCSE 299-7wk class (reading a packet full of articles, and going over the powerpoint notes)
-Doing research on Irish immigrants settled in new york in 1860 for our project being filmed on sunday
-writing my ch. 9 summary

SO how much of this studying is happening tonight?
Hmmmmm....probably not much. I just want at least one night not thinking about school. So tomorrow is dedicated to studying.

P.S. I think i have decided to read Water for Elephants over spring break.
I am so excited for the movie to come out in April. I mean can it get much better....Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson...ya it's gonna be good.

(47) Thrilling Thursday

Today was an all in all wonderful day.
I spent my hour before class searching for an article for one of my projects.
I went to class and we discussed an upcoming paper for about 30 minutes and then class was finished.
I went back to the lounge and continued researching.
And now you are probably thinking so how is that wonderful??? I'm getting there.....
At 12:15 i met up with the people from my friday group project. While i was with them i got a text from Christina seeing if i was free today. I was so happy to be able to say that i was. My 2pm class was cancelled since my teacher is at a conference. So i finished up with the group stuff and then christina and i headed to LA. We took pictures at Dodger Stadium and then drove through LA and somehow ended up in South Central-thats always fun. We made it to the freeway and headed home.
I got home around 4, took a shower and got ready, then left the house at 5:30 for my second new zealand meeting. When i got to school i was able to catch the teacher i kept meaning to email. I talked to her and am able to observe in the preschool tomorrow at 11, which is before i have to meet up with my group again and for the last time. Things worked out perfectly. At the meeting, I found out that a friend i had a class with last semester is going on the trip. I am so excited to know somebody....now i have a roomie.
The trip is 3 months away and i am so excited for this semester to be done and my summer adventure to begin. Oh and if you want to help fund me, then there is a link in the sidebar. (Any amount helps)

(46) I'm Catching Up

I didn't end up going to sleep until 12:30am last night. This morning I got up at 6:15.
I got to school this morning and watched one tree hill online. Unfortunately the internet was being really slow, so it took forever to watch it. I went to class then finished watching the rest of it afterward. I didn't have any reading to do for my next class so i decided to watch gossip girl online. The internet was even worse at that point. I gave up for a while and took a nap.
I went to class and we watched a movie about relationships and marriages of elderly people. They talked about how they met and how things have changed after 50+ years of being together. It was so great and some of their stories made me want to cry. I have to say this was a very relaxing school day.

I got home from school and continued on my tv catch up stent.
I finished watching teen mom 2 and took another nap.
Later on me and my dad went to CVS and i got my passport photos taken. (i already applied for my passport but i needed more photos for my documentation and id and such for my study abroad in new zealand)
We came home and got to spend time with Ethan- my cousins 2 1/2 year old son. He is absolutely adorable and so smart.
Later i worked on my "backpack project" and was also able to get one of the components i needed for it from cvs.
Dinner: rice, apricot chicken, broccoli, and peach pie
Watched parenthood with my parents and then me and my mom watched Americas next top model.

(45) don't feel like it

So at this moment i really don't feel like making a day 45 post. This is mainly because it's almost midnight and all i want to do is go to sleep. Well here is what i am motivated enough to type about today.

Today was my second to last super early day of the semester.
I took a test this morning...which feels like days ago.
i took a nap while trying to read.
found out that my fieldwork class is not going to fit into my schedule the way i had planned-instead i will probably have to take it over summer.
there was a guest speaker in one of my classes who was so entertaining- a very nice change from our usual lectures.
was home for an hour and a half (after being gone from 6:50 am to 3:30), before i had to leave for work.
then i was gone from 5-11:30pm for work.
Now i am home and grateful that i have nothing due tomorrow and no reading to finish before class.
Sigh of relief, now going to bed

(44) The simple, funny things in life

My morning started off with me going in the kitchen to get a cup of coffee and my dad telling me "your clothes don't match." i replied, "i know they're just pajamas so it doesn't matter." He explained, "its not very often that i am able to tell you that, so i had to say it." The things my dad tells me just crack me up sometimes. Even yesterday he had me chuckling when he said "your pony tail looks cute." I don't think he has ever said my hair looked "cute" let alone something as basic as a pony tail.

Anyways, i got dressed and of course was matching or at least coordinating.
I got all of the reading done at school that needed to be finished today. I had an easy day of classes and came home to a very friendly cat.
Velcro decided i was the perfect place to sit and then proceeded to lick me
she semi settled in but it wasn't working for me.
finally almost comfortable
Both of us completely settled in
A little while later i headed downstairs and watched some tv. Then i went grocery shopping with mom. After that i worked more on my study guide and finished a homework assignment. Then it was time for dinner (homemade mac n cheese and cabbage with turkey sausage, and a glass of wine)
I watched the Bachelor and now its time to go to bed.
I am going to attempt to get plenty of sleep so that i can stay awake during my test tomorrow.

(42) Gearing Up for March

I slept in 'til 10 this morning. It was delightful and much needed.
I started my morning off with coffee and immediately started working on a study guide for a test i have on tuesday.
I got a few questions in and then switched over to planning/organizing mode. I created calendars for the next three months and color coded all of my classes with everything that is due and with all of my exams. In the month of march, I only have 5 school days where there isn't a test, presentation, or assignment due.
Trying to keep my sanity is going to be difficult but at least I know what's ahead.

At 3:30 I left for work and started my shift at 4.
I had a really good night. My break came at a great time (i had just got sat a table I didn't like and i was hungry and able to eat)
I still had food left over. I took packaging my food as an opportunity for my creative outlet for the day.
Yes, i did have to write on the box to make sure my food didn't get thrown out.
I got off work at 11pm. I had made $80 tonight- around 12%. Not too shabby.
I got home around 11:30 and then watched an animal planet show called Must Love Cats. I already love cats and it was so great to see so many cute kitties and see just how many people care about them and for them. (ok some of these people are quite weird and over the top. FYI i am not one of those cat lovers)

Now I will attempt to go to bed. Which, if you recall from other saturday nights, is quite a challenge.
And like always i had iced tea tonight-so my chances for falling asleep soon are very slim. I will do my best to get some sleep.

UPDATE
Got some free music on itunes...you should get them while they're still free.
Went to sleep around 2am
