(16) Just Another Day of School

I got to semi sleep in today. This means that my alarm went off at 6am and i got to hit snooze every 5 minutes until 6:25.

The usual get ready routine followed after rolling out of bed. (i really do literally roll out of bed. I find it fun and it takes less effort than sitting up and scooting off the edge of my tall bed.)

7:50
Walked to the bus stop. It was a beautiful morning. It was cold out but the sun was nice and warm. It was neat to see steam rising off the pavement, cars, and buildings.

I got to school and had about an hour until class started. Well i got the rest of the first chapter of my textbook read. Once class got out I went to the bookstore with one of my friends who needed to buy her textbooks. I then headed to the courtyard and ate lunch and read the majority of ch 2 of my textbook. My next class was at 12:30 and finished at 1:45. I barely made it through. I was tired, zoning out, nearly falling asleep, needed to use the restroom, and I was hungry. Clearly I survived that class but it wasn't easy. I took the bus home and was so happy to be done with school for the day.

I was sitting at home for maybe 15 minutes when I got a call from mom. We were going to target and sam's club. Several hours later we were back home. I ate dinner and then worked on some homework.

-Ikea with Erin and Eddie
-Worked out at the gym
-Went to see Tyler at Red Robin
-Organized Erin's collection of plastic bags. (sorry to out you)
I got home from this fun filled day around 9 PM. It was a long one, but a good one.

What the rest of the night holds:
-watch extreme makeover home makeover
-figure out what i need to do for school tomorrow

(14) My Apologies

I have a secret to tell you.
I normally work on my blog posts periodically throughout the day.
Today I didn't. Therefor I don't really remember what happened.

I'll give it my best shot.

-Woke up at 9:10 and had coffee
-Browsed the internet while watching tv (i don't remember what it was)
-Came up with and worked on the table decorations for the college group valentines day dinner
-Watched a rowing competition
-went to work at 4pm
-Got to see Amber Riley (mercedes from glee)-she was with her mom. I didn't take a picture with her or even say hi for that matter. But it was so exciting to see her. (It's the second time she has come in to eat)
-Had a party of 20 teenagers (it was 2 peoples 17th birthday) who actually tipped well
-got off work at 10:15 and made 15% in tips

Well I think that was most of it. I'm sure it was the boring stuff that I forgot to include. So you all should be thanking me-you don't have to read about nonsense.

Oh and I'm still sore from my workout yesterday. I was expecting my legs to hurt, but no its my abs that are killing me. It's a good pain.
And tomorrow I think I'll work them out even more.

(13) ♪I Feel Good♪

9am
Woke up
It felt so good to not wake up to an alarm going off.
I poured myself a cup of coffee and actually got to sit and enjoy it.
TV: Watched live with regis and kelly
(regis wasn't there but the radio dj Psycho Mike was co-hosting. Someone that attractive should not be on radio. Get him on a tv show. )

12:45

Yes, I have a friday class. Parent Education
Class started at 2. I really like the professor. Her name is Amanda Dixon. She just found out a week ago that she would be teaching this class. She is taking over for a professor (and a friend of hers) who is on maternity leave. She got her BA at CSULB in 2005 and then worked as a preschool teacher, then became a director, and then moved on to get her masters and graduated in 2009. She is married and is 4 months pregnant and is also a tv junkie (which i can easily relate to and appreciate). Im sure all of you were dying to know all of this information about my professor, so you are welcome. If you couldn't tell I'm really excited about this class. This class is all about what i want to do with my degree. I want to be a parenting coach and educator. I look forward to what this class is going to teach me.

4:45
Headed to the gym with Erin and semi met up with Eddie.
It was so amazing to workout. We spent 10 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the bikes, and I headed over to the mat and worked on the ball and erin ran on the treadmill. After about 10 minutes I had finished my abs and butt workout on the ball and moved on to the treadmill where I spent 10 minutes walking then running. We then wandered through the gym to explore all it has to offer. It was so gratifying to finally exercise, and now i feel great.

I got home around 6:30 and started cooking a healthy dinner.
This dish includes: broccoli, artichokes, Garden Burger (veggie patty), tomato basil pasta sauce, tomato basil feta cheese, shredded parmesan cheese. It was delicious.

(12) Change of Plans

Let me start off by saying that my extra 30 minutes of sleep this morning was amazing and definitely needed and appreciated.
The rest of my morning routine was the same as any other day, but instead of taking the bus, mom took me to school on her way to work.

Todays Outfit

Todays Schedule

-Read half of a chapter in my Marriage and Families texbook before class started.
-Class got out at 10:20 (25 minutes early) This meant even more extra time.
-During this 3+ hour break between class I...
*finished reading chapter one of my textbook
*ate lunch (apple, PB&J, and snap peas)
*played solitaire on my ipod
*listened to music
*met up with Corttni and chatted then we went to the library and to the fcs building.
-I went to class and that got out 20 minutes later. (I love waiting 3 hours for a class that only lasts for 20 minutes....NOT)
-I was able to catch the bus right away (i guess that was one good thing about getting out early)
-I picked up food at El Burrito Jr. and then continued my walk home.

I was supposed to have my New Zealand study abroad meeting today at 6pm, but that was postponed until sometime next week. (The professor who is leading the group is in India-her father passed away and is taking care of things with her family-and won't be back for a few days)
Since I don't have a meeting tonight I am able to go to college group at church.

Here is an inside look at what i need to conquer in the near future, sometime before it takes over my room:

(11) I Know Them

In case you haven't noticed, every morning is going to follow the same routine. In case you didn't realize that or don't know what that entails, well this small blurb is for you.
(wake up while its dark outside- either 6 or 5:30, drink coffee, get dressed, eat breakfast, gather school stuff, pack a lunch, walk to the bus stop)

Todays Outfit (and Velcro)
(It's funny to watch my room get progressively messier through each photo)
Todays class schedule and commentary:
-Mr. Mutton Chops let us out early, so after class i spent some time chatting with a classmate (the one person i knew in that class) until she had to go to her next class.
-11:50 i went on a hunt to find a fork (of course i forgot to bring one) and found one at el pollo loco in the student union.
-while headed to the fcs lounge i ran into Travis and Debbie, and chose to ditch my loner plan. We headed to the bookstore-i was able to buy the last packet I needed for a class.
-We then headed back to the student union to eat. And who did we find in the courtyard??? Eddie and Kyle. It was a wonderful bethany people hang out time.
-I headed over to class around 12. Last time she started 10 minutes early, today she got there 5 minutes late, I'm sure someday in the future she'll get the time right.

I got home today around 2:15.
It was so nice to know that i was home for the day and didn't have to be anywhere later on.
I caught up on the shows that had been recorded and hadn't had time to watch earlier in the week.
So i watched: Gossip Girl (don't judge me for my guilty pleasure awful yet wonderful show) and Teen Mom 2 (i can justify watching it-it relates to my major). Then I turned on glee and took a nap (and that was not to say that glee is boring, its not, and its one of my favorite shows- i normally wouldn't sleep through it, but i was exhausted).

The rest of the night involved eating dinner and watching TV and trying to stay awake.(i can't take too many naps or i won't be able to sleep tonight-and that would be awful)

Tomorrow i look forward to sleeping in a half hour longer. Oh the simple joys in life and not needing to shower on a daily basis.

(10) A long day

5:30am
Seriously!?!?
I woke up at 5:30. This is way too early. Life should not exist at this time.
I managed to pull myself out of bed and function enough to get dressed and make it downstairs.
The usual morning pre school routine happened.
Todays Outfit

6:50am
(I am so happy that the sun comes up just in time for me to go outside.) I left the house and walked to the bus stop.
I got to school around 7:20 and had 40 minutes which gave me plenty of time to get to class and get settled in.
Class let out at 9:15. I rushed to the other side of campus and made it to my 9:30 class with 5 minutes to spare.
That class only lasted for about 20 minutes.
This left me with nearly 4 hours before my next class started.
I used my spare time to:
-view my academic progress through walk in advising
-eat lunch
-catch up on reading blogs
-catch up with Kathryn (who found me in the fcs building)
-work on part of this blog post
Luckily the time went bye fairly quick.
My next class started at 2pm. We were out of class by 2:15.
My mom was able to pick me up on the way home, which meant I didn't have to stand around and wait for the bus!!!! We picked up rascals and were home around 2:50.
I ate some food, turned on Greys anatomy, and then took a much needed nap. Around 4pm i started getting ready for work.
I worked from 5:30-10:40. It was a decent shift. Nothing too out of the ordinary or extraordinary happened. I was so happy to get home. My body was exhausted.

What i realized today:
Tuesdays are going to be really long, tiring days, but I can handle it since it will only be for 6 more weeks.

(9) Hello again school

6am
Alarm goes off. Immediately i turn over, hit dismiss, and get out of bed. No snoozing allowed today.
I took a shower. By the time i got out, the sun was beginning to rise, and the sky looked beautiful.(it made being up this early almost worth it. I grabbed my coffee and headed to my room.

6:30am
Got dressed. And of course the challenge of what to wear had arrived. I resorted to wearing my pink striped shirt and my go to pair of jeans. (later, once i was thinking straight, i added a scarf and jacket)  After that dilemma i moved onto something much more simple, and did my make up.
Todays Outfit
Photo not entirely accurate: I ended up changing into moccasins right before i left
6:50am
back downstairs. Breakfast time: special k with berries cereal
sometime between 7 and 7:45...
I finished getting ready
double checked that everything was packed
reviewed the bus schedule
brushed my teeth
took a deep breath-reminding myself that i really had to go to school
7:50am
headed out the door and walked to the bus stop.
I was pleased that the bus arrived on time-i didn't have to wait around for it.
School
Class didn't start til 9:30, so i had an hour of time to waste. A good 20min. of it involved walking to the VEC building(which is in lower campus and really far)  and then trying to find the classroom. (the teacher had a hard time finding it too-he ended up being 5 minutes late to class)
Also in that time, I got my schedule copied into my planner, found the restroom, ate an apple (not in the restroom, ewww), and chatted with a classmate from last semester. She is also in my 9:30 class. I was so happy to know somebody.

Since it was the first day, the professor went over the syllabus and requirements and then dismissed us. This meant even more spare time before my next class. I went to the bookstore and picked up my textbook-the only one i had to buy at full price-the rest i bought online or am borrowing. I waited in the long checkout line, which i didn't mind one bit. It occupied my spare time and I love people watching and overhearing peoples conversations. (is eavesdropping bad???? well if they don't want people to hear it, they shouldn't talk so loud or openly). Once i paid for my book I headed to some tables outside and ate my lunch, read an InStyle magazine article, listened to music, and read one third of the first chapter in the textbook i had just purchased.

My next class was at 12:30.
The professor got to the room early and started her introduction of herself and the course 10 minutes before class had officially begun. It worked in my favor. Class was out by 12:50 so i was able to catch the 12:55 bus.

It was a fairly short and sweat kind of school day.
I think I'm going to enjoy this semester.

1:20pm
I got home and checked the mailbox. Inside were two packages addressed to me. My last two textbooks had arrived!
Shortly after getting home I got a phone call from Krissi and a few hours later (around 4pm) we got to hang out.
So what did we do?
-went to cha for tea and each got a large, iced, almond black milk tea with boba, and as always we each picked out the color straw that best matched what we were wearing. (does anyone else do this?)
-went to copypro to pick up a reading packet for my class. They had to print it out- so i used my debit card and paid for the packet, and it was ready a few minutes later. But it wasn't the right one. They gave me cash back and informed me that the packet wasn't going to be ready for a few more days. This is the price I pay to try to be on top of things instead of procrastinating.
-had tacos at Krissi's house
-made a list of free and low cost things to do in long beach. (we never know what to do or where to go, so now we are prepared for future hang outs)
8pm
Watched The Bachelor
Or is it the Michelle Show? I am hearing way too much from her. Seriously, a black eye? I am pretty sure she did it to herself for more attention. She is psycho. Get her off the show.

I will be getting to bed even earlier tonight since i have to be at the bus stop at 7am tomorrow.

(8) Sleep, I need you

What a morning.
After work last night I couldn't fall asleep.I ended up watching 3 episodes of Grey's Anatomy and then watched Anjelah Johnson: That's How We Do It, on netflix. I didn't end up falling asleep until 4am (i believe that's a first for me). My alarm went off at 7:30 this morning. I hit snooze but never fully fell back asleep. I got up and had a cup of coffee and then sat on my parents bed and zoned out for about 45 minutes. Eventually I got up and got ready for church.
Todays Outfit
Church (9:30-12:15)
I was really amazed at how awake I was today. (and i'm not just being sarcastic. I didn't even yawn at all) I was attentive and able to absorb so much (both during college group and big church). Aside from major body aches and cramps it was so wonderful to be there today.
Lunch
After church, a group of us went to Costco. I got a slice of pepperoni pizza(which was covered in grease-i used about 7 napkins to sop it up) and a berry smoothie. Delicious!
3:20-4:10
Nap Time
I'm glad i didn't sleep for too long. I have to be able to fall asleep at a decent time cause school starts tomorrow= no sleeping in. GAHHHHH
4ish
Watched Enchanted (it was on TV when I woke up- mom had turned it on while i was napping)
5pm
Worked on another etsy treasury
For your viewing pleasure
6ish
I started gathering my stuff for school. I printed out the syllabi for my classes, grabbed a binder and a notebook, and started filling up my backpack. I am excited for my classes this semester, but I dread getting back into the swing of things (including: riding the bus, waking up early, doing homework, writing papers, and being on campus 5 days a week).
7ish
Ate dinner (apricot chicken, broccoli, rice) and packed my lunch for tomorrow.
Goal of the night
Get to bed early so that I'm not a moody zombie in the morning or at school. (This shouldn't be too hard to fulfill since I'm wiped)

(7) Joys of Being Home

I woke up multiple times this morning. I would look at the clock, close my eyes, and roll over. (It was my last morning to sleep in before school starts on monday, so I think I was trying to milk it) Eventually I woke up for good. I got out of bed at 10:34.

I got into the kitchen and there was a full pot of coffee ready. I was a happy girl. I chose to use the biggest mug i own. (Owl mug-the one that is the size of my head)

11am
TV: watched a rerun of Sarah's House
(which leads to....)
I have so many design/decorating ideas that i want to put into a house. I just have to wait. Or, could somebody buy me a house and give me lots of money for decorating? Cause i think that sounds like a great plan.
1pm
I got a blog post up at welcome to my closet
Todays Hairstyle
Its a combination of tuesday and thursdays hairdo
Braided Bun and braids on the side
(Picture taken after work)
Work
I left for work at 3:30pm and got home a little after 11pm. The shift started fine, aside from having weak, achy legs, and my first table not tipping. Most of the shift went smooth (i was in a good mood, had nice tables, decent tips). At some point without my notice, things changed. By the end of the night my sales were almost $600 dollars and I had only made $54 in tips (=9.3%). I had to accept the concept of you win some, you lose some. Today was a lose some kind of day. And in my mind that deserved a glass of wine upon arriving home.
(the joy of being 21-almost 22)

Dr.'s Appt.
Yes, they made me wear a mask
I had Dr. Megan O'Bryan treating me today. She was so wonderful and so much better than my usual physician. The bad news is she's only there because one doctor left and mine is on maternity leave. That means I can't have her as my doctor all the time.
Here is what makes her so great:
-She speaks perfect english (my other Dr. is from India)
-She is really sweet and friendly.
-She apologized about the check in people making me wear a mask, and said she wouldn't have made me wear it.
-She examined my ears and found mucous behind my eardrums, she found a swollen lymph node, and she discovered that my tonsils aren't visible (which she had never seen in any of her patients before-she thought I had them removed, I didn't).
-She was surprised that my doctor hadn't prescribed me anything two weeks ago when I was in.
-She prescribed me antibiotics and nasal spray!!!!!! I am finally going to get better after 2 1/2 months.
Oh I also got an HPV shot, so now I have one sore arm.
This was a wonderful Doctor visit.

9:22am
Morning Wake up Call from the Dr.'s office.
Luckily Andrea(woman who called) was very nice and easy to understand.
Dr. Appt. confirmed for Wednesday @3:45, 3rd floor, suite 304.
It's a different Dr than i've been seeing. Maybe she will find that being sick since November is not normal. Maybe she will actually prescribe me antibiotics. Maybe she can prescribe me allergy meds. I think I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope it's not just wishful thinking.
9:30am
Made myself get out of bed....it wasn't easy.
Poured myself a huge cup of coffee.

(And Regis is moving on from the show after 28 years. Is it bad to be happy about this. Too bad. I always felt so bad for the people he interviewed.  He didn't know much about them, he would interrupt their responses, and so many of them looked uncomfortable. I will, however, miss Kelly and His talks that happen the first 10-15 minutes of the show. But that's about all I'll miss about good old Regis)

Work
It started off really slow, which was a pleasant change from the previous shifts over the last few weeks(where i felt like i was being thrown into chaos). I was in a positive mood the whole time, which was also a nice change. The past few shifts I had been easily overwhelmed, stressed, and not myself. It was so wonderful to be back in the swing of things. The pace picked up after two servers were sent home, which meant it was time to step it up. Me and my coworker kept busy from about 7 to 10 (closing). By the end of the night I had made over 17% in tips, which is good for where I work.
Sigh of relief for the night being over and being home.
And an even bigger sigh of relief for being back to my happy, positive self at work.
